Severn Vale School is a Secondary School in Quedgeley, Gloucester, England, United Kingdom. Its students are aged from 11 to 16 due to the lack of a sixth form. The headmaster is Peter Rowland.[1]
Each grade level has eight tutor groups. They are W, R, O, Y, G, B, I and V. They are named after the colours of the visible spectrum with the exception of W which stands for white. W, R, O and Y all study Spanish during Key Stage 3, while G, B, I and V all study French.
GCSEs are the final examinations students take at the school. Being a Technology College, students take a Design and Technology subject. The choice is Food Technology, Resistant Materials, Textiles or Graphic Design, but soon there will be a new enterprise option. Students must take English, Mathematics, Science and a short course in Religious Education. As of September 2008, students in year 10 and beyond have to take a short course in Citizenship. Students must attend Physical Education lessons, but will only be examined if they choose to study it at GCSE level. Students may choose to continue studying the Modern Language they studied at Key Stage level.
